- ABOUT US
Writer/Director, Eduardo Jimenez Pons, Founder, and President of The Broadway Star Project, together with BSP co-funder Coty Manriquez have created, written, and directed many successful shows for NBC Universal Telemundo, Televisa, Univision, Disney Buenavista, and Viacom. Most importantly, they are the parents of a young actor who made his Broadway debut at the age of 11 years old. This experience and the realization of the lacking of musical theater educational programs for serious and professional performers, inspired Eduardo and Coty to create such a place, and in 2017, together with Ron and Linda Harris parents of another young Broadway performer, they created The Broadway Star Project.
Listening to the stories of kids and parents from other Broadway shows and tours, as well as from Casting Directors, Talent Agents, Managers Actors, Coaches, Directors, Choreographers, and Producers, they developed a support system for parents and a structure to generate real opportunities for actors on their way to becoming Broadway performers (or are currently between shows). This initiative would assemble the people and resources for young actors to learn and grow their craft in a professional environment. Top teachers, coaches, and mentors would capture the young artist's attention, push them to their full potential, and inspire their imaginations as they embark on this exciting journey to their dreams.
Today, The Broadway Star Project is a reality! They runseveral programs throughout the year in New York City, Mexico, and Guatemala, with plans to open in the U.K, Spain, Italy, and to start running workshops in Miami and Orlando. The BSP performers, have been invited to perform in several legendary venues like 54 Below and Radio City Music Hall. They produce two albums, one EP, six shows, and two promotional videos every year. Their student body counts with professional child actors and young aspiring actors too. The BSP produced its fisrt Holiday musical in 2018 and will open its first original musical "Light Up My Heart" in 2020! But in the words of Coty Manriquez, "Our greatest accomplisment is that, because of our programs, many of our students have obtained representation, job offers, are getting more and more callbacks and their confidence level is at the top."
Dream Big! Make it happen!
