Eduardo Jimenez Pons, Founder and President of The Broadway Star Project, alongside Broadway Star Project co-founder Coty Manriquez, have created, written, and directed many successful shows for NBC Universal Telemundo, Televisa, Univision, Disney Buena Vista, and Viacom. Most importantly, they are the parents of a young actor who made his Broadway debut at the age of 11 years old. The family's Broadway experience and their subsequent realization of the lack of musical theatre educational programs for serious and professional performers, inspired Eduardo and Coty to create such a place, and in 2017, partnering with Ron and Linda Harris, parents of another young Broadway performer, they created The Broadway Star Project.

After listening to the stories of kids and parents from other Broadway shows and tours, as well as from casting directors, talent agents, managers actors, coaches, directors, choreographers, and producers, they developed a support system for parents and a structure to generate real opportunities for actors who are on their way to becoming Broadway performers (or are currently between shows). This initiative would assemble the people and resources for young actors to learn and grow their craft in a professional environment. Top teachers, coaches, and mentors would capture the young artist's attention, push them to their full potential, and inspire their imaginations as they embark on this exciting journey to achieve their dreams.

Today, The Broadway Star Project is a reality! They run several programs throughout the year in New York City, Mexico, and Guatemala, with plans to begin programming in Miami, Orlando, the U.K, Spain, and Italy. The BSP performers have been invited to perform at several legendary venues like 54 Below and Radio City Music Hall. They produce two albums, one EP, six shows, and two promotional videos every year. Their student body consist of professional and aspiring young actors. The BSP produced its first Holiday musical in 2018 and will open its first original musical "Light Up My Heart" in 2020! But in the words of Coty Manriquez, "Our greatest accomplishment is that, because of our programs, many of our students have obtained representation, job offers, are getting more and more callbacks and their confidence level is better than ever."
